FAQ for Physical Therapy

  • If you are someone who experiences discomfort, is recovering or wants to prevent an injury, have instability, or want to avoid surgery and prescription drugs, physical therapy can help you by managing pain, and maximizing your movement.

  • For physical therapy services, our specialists will guide you through your treatment plan to help target issues you may be experiencing. After the initial treatment, it is common to feel sore, as some movements can feel foreign after not being performed in a long time.

  • In our office we enforce that results happen over time, not overnight. Each patient is different, some of our patients can feel relief in as little as 3 sessions, while others can take a little longer. Regardless of feeling relief in such a little time, our specialists recommend sticking to a weekly regime for 6-12 weeks to gain the best results.

  • In physical therapy, a lot of techniques and modalities are used to help our patients feel their best. One of the few are TENS (Transcutaneous Electric Nerve Stimulation), which is a small battery operated device that delivers a mild electric current. Low Level Laser Therapy is another instrument that we use to help acute and chronic conditions. These tools help us to deliver the best relief to our patients. Our PTs also use hot and cold packs which helps inflammation and relaxes sore and tight muscles.

  • The duration of our physical therapy services can be anywhere from 30-60 minutes, but usually no longer.

  • When doing physical therapy, it is best to dress to your comfort level as you will be doing movements during your treatment plan.

FAQ for Chiropractic Care

  • Chiropractors use a hands-on approach to helping you feel your best. With enforcing alignment in the body, it can help our bodies heal without surgery and medication, which are two common options that our healthcare system turns to.

  • Many people can benefit from chiropractic adjustments. People who suffer from back pain, neck pain, migraines can benefit from adjustments. Not only can it help relieve pain, it can also help your posture, and increase the range of motion of your spine and other joints.

  • When getting adjusted by a chiropractor, it is normal to feel tense and nervous for treatment. It is best to relax, the resistance to the treatment can cause more discomfort. Chiropractors can use their hands and small instruments for an effective treatment. For the adjustment itself, popping sounds may be heard, but there is no reason to be alarmed. The popping sound is just nitrogen bubbles popping in our synovial fluid, which is just thick liquid that lubricates the joints.

  • There are various techniques and treatments that are used during a chiropractic session. For a more hands on approach, the chiropractor will use his/her hands to do a manual adjustment in places that are causing discomfort/pain in patients. Typically the adjustment will happen on a designated table that all have different purposes. Another technique used is an activator adjuster tool. This tool is a handheld spring device that sends low force into the area. This prevents the muscle being targeted from seizing and resisting treatment.

  • There is no specific number to how many sessions it takes to feel relief, it is really up to the individual, their consistency, and their bodies healing. Maintenance sessions can be good for preventing injuries and the pain from coming back.

FAQ for Acupuncture

  • Acupuncture is a form of medicine that consists of hair like needles being inserted into different points in the body to get any blocked energy moving. There are over 300 acupuncture points in the body, when the combination of designated points are targeted, it allows for the energy to return to being balanced.

  • Many conditions can be treated by acupuncture. If you have pain in the neck, back or knee, you can greatly benefit from acupuncture. Acupuncture can also help migraines, neuropathy, arthritis, infertility, and many other issues.

  • When getting acupuncture you can expect feeling relaxed and even tired during the service. Our licensed acupuncturists will insert sterile needles to help aid relief in the areas of discomfort.

  • Techniques and methods that are used during an acupuncture service at AllCure are general acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, and cupping.

  • An acupuncture session is typically 45 minutes to an hour long.

FAQ for Occupational Therapy

  • Occupational therapy, or OT, restores quality of life to patients experiencing physical, cognitive, or sensory issues, helping individuals develop, recover, and maintain skills needed for an enjoyable and optimal existence.

  • The goal of occupational therapy is to treat patients recovering from a range of maladies, including mental, physical, developmental, and emotional, that impact the patient’s ability to carry out daily tasks. By assisting patients in learning, or relearning, how to execute activities associated with living, these therapists reignite patient independence and outlook.
